Big Splash!

We went to the waterslides last Friday, and of course the day we picked to go was a little chilly in the a.m. but by the afternoon it warmed up which was much better for the kids. We went with our neighbors and had a great time. Macy was a little unsure at first and would have to have either Steve or me up there to help her on the slide and one of us would catch her, but pretty soon she figured out how to go up and get on by herself and there was no stopping her! I bet she went up and down 30 times or more. Gage had a great time and was much braver this year than last year. He even wanted to go down the big big slides but he's too short this year so hopefully next! Daddy even got to come and spend a few hours with us which was great. We wish he could have stayed the whole time but we'll take what we can get!! I got much more sun than I thought I did and was feelin it the next day....ouchie! My kids love the water so we are eagerly awaiting out trip to Whitefish next week!!! Stay tuned for pictures.........

Down by the river

Saturday was a sweltering 98 degrees at our house so we decided that evening to have Gage's favorite take out (McD's) gross!!!! and take it down to the river for a little picnic and fun in the water. The river was running really fast still but we found this great little swimming hole for the kids to play in and it was perfect. The water was actually really warm and only came up to my butt so it was perfect for the kids. Gage was quite the little fish once he figured out that his life jacket would keep him afloat. Macy would just lounge in the little boat but then she just laid out with her life jacket on and was quite the little bathing beauty. After the sun went down it got a little chilly, so we headed home, had some ice cream and went to bed. What a great way to beat the heat!

The room is finally done

Overjoyed at their new room!!!

I've only been working on it for about 3 months now (more like waiting for Steve to do his part), but the kids' new room is finally done. It isn't all that great and all that exciting, but it's done now, they each have their own beds, and are doing pretty good so far. I left one side kind of boy for Gage and made Macy's side a little more girly but tied it all together with the polka dots. Thanks so much DeAnn for coming and keeping the kids occupied while I got their room done. What a lifesaver!!!! WE had Grammie Witt come for a short visit but the kids sure had fun with her and missed her lots when she left. I put her to work and she sewed me some curtain things to cover our toys in the entertainment center and she hemmed the new curtains in the kids' room and fixed my maternity swimming suit. What a wonderful mother-in-law!! Thanks for everything!! We love you lots and can't wait for more visitors when the baby is here!!!

Independence Day

We had a wonderful but very busy 4th of July with lots of food, fireworks, and friends. The kids and I headed to the parade in Laurel around 11 and neither of them were quite sure what to think. When they threw the candy and I told Gage to run and get some he said, "But mom, it's in the street!" I guess it's finally sunk in not to run in the street. I told him it was a a special day and I'd make sure no cars would get him. Macy finally got the hang of the whole thing half way through and had a blast. We went with our little neighborhood friends, Jordan and Brylee, and they were more than happy to help. Steve I think had more fun on the 4th of July than anyone. Him and the other dads of the block had a roman candle war, which I wasn't quite thrilled about, but he only got away with a ruined pair of shorts and 2 shirts. Gage wouldn't go near STeve because he kept saying that daddy was going to shoot him. After many hours of fireworks and fun Gage looked at me at about 10:30 and said, "Mom, this is taking forever. I just want to go to bed." So off to bed me, Gage, and Macy went. We laid in my bed at 10:58 and they were snoring by 11:07. My camera didnt' work great that night so I only have pics of the parade. Hope you all had as much fun as we did!
