Down by the river

Saturday was a sweltering 98 degrees at our house so we decided that evening to have Gage's favorite take out (McD's) gross!!!! and take it down to the river for a little picnic and fun in the water. The river was running really fast still but we found this great little swimming hole for the kids to play in and it was perfect. The water was actually really warm and only came up to my butt so it was perfect for the kids. Gage was quite the little fish once he figured out that his life jacket would keep him afloat. Macy would just lounge in the little boat but then she just laid out with her life jacket on and was quite the little bathing beauty. After the sun went down it got a little chilly, so we headed home, had some ice cream and went to bed. What a great way to beat the heat!
